Since the start of the pandemic, women have lost approximately 300 million jobs. To help get them back on their feet, Austin Young Lawyers Association Community Service Days Committee is supporting Dress for Success—a volunteer-based organization created to help women achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools. For the month of November, AYLA is requesting the donation of purses and professional accessories (necklaces, earrings, belts, etc.), which can be dropped off at the Hilgers House, 712 W 16th St, Austin, TX 78701, on November 16 or 17 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Alternatively, participants can click on the this link (or scan the accompanying QR code) to purchase specific items of need such as toiletry bags and suits as well as professional services including virtual workshops and career consulting. Please contact Morgan Shell if you have any questions.

The purpose of the tailgate is to raise funds and awareness to benefit AYLA’s community holiday event for underprivileged families, which will be held on December 12, 2021. This year, AYLA will partner with the YMCA to provide toys for children. Our goal is to provide holiday cheer to families who might otherwise not have that opportunity.
