In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Austin Young Lawyers Association will coordinate its 13th annual Day of Service project on Monday, January 16, 2023. This local project is modeled after the national Martin Luther King Day of Service, which is intended to transform Dr. King’s life and teachings into community service that helps solve social problems.

AYLA invites you to sign up for one or more of the events available for the Day of Service. We have several options to volunteer in person, drop off donations at Hilgers, or support local nonprofits from home. There are also options for children to help at some volunteer locations. In addition, please encourage family and friends to volunteer with you.

AYLA is hosting our 6th Annual Tailgate for a Cause fundraiser on Saturday, November 12 for the UT vs TCU game. The purpose of the tailgate is to raise funds and awareness to benefit AYLA’s community holiday event for underprivileged families, which will be held on December 11, 2022. This year, AYLA will partner with the YMCA to provide toys for children. Our goal is to provide holiday cheer to families who might otherwise not have that opportunity. Applications for the 2023 AYLA/Austin Bar Leadership Academy are now open. The Leadership Academy was established to teach leadership, expand and develop relationship networks, and to assist Austin-area lawyers in making a difference in our community and in service to the Bar.
